And brought back some bad memories while he was at it.
If you follow Paul O’Connell you’ll know he’s not the most prolific of tweeters and he’d be forgiven for staying away from Twitter for a while after being burned by Mike Phillips earlier today.
Phillips, who announced his retirement from international rugby earlier this week, tweeted yesterday to promote a documentary about the ‘real Mike Phillips’ to be broadcast on BBC next Monday.
O’Connell, sensing his chance to have a dig at his former Lions team-mate, asked Phillips if the documentary followed Phillips around on a night out, the scrum-half having got into trouble for a night or two on the town in the past.
@mikephillips009 did they film you on a night out?

Phillips, to be fair to him, responded with an excellent comeback and brought back more than a few bad memories of the 2011 Rugby World Cup for Irish fans.

We’re still bitter but well played Mike.
