Pic: Ronan O’Gara’s response to Dan Carter signing for Racing Metro was the best one of all
There’ll be a few cutbacks in the O’Gara household this Christmas it seems.
Racing Metro’s capture of All-Black out-half Dan Carter is THE major talking point in the rugby world this morning, with a lot of talk focussing on the eye-watering amount of cash Carter will earn when he arrives in Paris following the 2015 World Cup.
Carter is well-entitled to make the most of his earning power as he possibly can, of course, but few have considered the effect that his salary will have on the rest of the Racing Metro staff, which, of course, includes a certain Ronan O’Gara.
While welcoming Carter’s arrival this morning, ROG, with tongue firmly in cheek, was quick to point out that with Jacky Lorenzetti set to spend most of his budget paying Carter’s wages, times could be a little bit tougher for everyone else at the Paris-based club, including himself.
