The 2016 Masters will be discussed for years to come.
Usually, something as incredible as Shane Lowry’s wonderful hole-in-one would dominate the headlines, but this was no ordinary last day at the Masters.
Danny Willett shocked the world, after his fantastic final round 67 usurped the current holder of the Masters, Jordan Spieth, to hand the 28-year-old his first major win in the most dramatic of circumstances, and also help create a Twitter sensation in PJ Willett.
No doubt, Lowry would have been watching on with a tinge of regret, having not been able to repeat the heroics of his first round 68. Still, he, like the rest of us, was glued to the screen as both Willett and Spieth battled for glory.
The Offaly man pretty much summed up how we all felt in the latter half of the Sunday’s (April 10) round.
Mental stuff on the back 9 here at Augusta.

Wow @Danny_Willett congrats to you and @Smartie13 #winning.

Lowry wasn’t the only Irishman at the Masters sending his best wishes, with the 2010 US Open Champion Graeme McDowell, who missed the weekend cut at this year’s Masters, also feeling the nerves, before paying his own tribute to golf’s freshest star.
Was out hitting some balls and thought it was a done deal. Had to come running in to watch the end now!!! Jordan is not done yet.

Can't argue with the swings @Danny_Willett has just put on those last few holes. #clutch
