Fair play Shane.
This weekend was a momentous one in the career of Irish golfer and proud son of Offaly Shane Lowry.
He played some of the best golf of his career at the US Open, finished tied for ninth alongside Rory McIlroy and Jason Day and turned quite a few heads while he was at it.
Contending for a major on the final day wasn’t the only thing on Lowry’s mind, however, and like all Irish people last week, he was obviously affected by the terrible tragedy in Berkeley in which six Irish students lost their lives.
You may have noticed while watching the golf over the weekend, but Shane paid tribute to the Berkeley victims in a very special way.

Fair play Shane; looking forward to seeing you amongst the contenders at a major again real soon.
Wasn't to be for me today. Really enjoyed the buzz of contending on the Sunday of a major. Thanks so much to everyone for your support.
