On Wednesday night, we brought you a glimpse of a Bill O’Herlihy mural that was in the works at the Back Page pub in Phibsborough. Located on a wall in the beer garden out the back of the pub, it depicts Billo in one of his most memorable moments, following Ireland’s victory over Romania on penalties at Italia ‘90. “Alf has been cancelled,” said Billo. “You’re Alf, Bill,” replied Eamon Dunphy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izpAVt_qIUI Clip via Nutmeg365 We’ve since received evidence that the mural has been completed and it is a stunning tribute to the late broadcaster, who has been sorely missed since his untimely passing last May. https://twitter.com/darraghdoyle/status/725441950824935424 We’ll leave it there so.
