Fair play to the Kerry legend

Fair play to the Kerry legend.

The Allianz League is entering its final weeks as managers, pundits and fans alike are all starting to predict who the main contenders for the All-Ireland football championship will be this year.

While the league isn’t always the best indicator of who’s going to lift Sam , it has given GAA fans a chance to look at the strength of their counties panel while also showing those areas that require improvement before the qualifiers begin.

Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly’s Mayo side are currently joint second in the league and will be expected to have another strong season.

They already beat Kerry at Fitzgerald Stadium, 2-11 to 0-10, but it seems that Colm Cooper isn’t holding any grudges against the Connacht champions.

The iconic Kerry forward visited St. Muredachs College, Ballina this morning and he even offered some begrudging support to the ‘Mayo for Sam’ brigade.

We’ve a strong feeling that his heart is 100% in Kerry though but he’s still a good sport for posing with the lads.
