The Argentinean genius might not have been at his scintillating best against Manchester City last night, but he certainly grew in influence as the game went on and was involved in the most crucial moment of the game – and probably the tie – when he was fouled by Martin Demichelis for the penalty which led to Demichelis being sent off and Messi giving Barca the lead.
The Man City fans showed their appreciation for Messi’s talents last night and it seemed as if even the advertising hoardings were keen to get in on the act.
