That’s at least eight screws you can see in that x-ray picture below… if you can bear to look at it that is.

Two days after breaking the radial bone in his arm during Ireland’s heartbreaking defeat to the All-Blacks and Rory Best is already on the mend having had an operation to mend it at the Ulster Hospital since having to be withdrawn from the fray during the first half on Sunday. While we’d like to think it was a straightforward operation, a picture Best posted on Twitter earlier on suggests that it was far from it, as one can clearly see what looks like a plate inserted through the centre of the bone with a good handful of screws to hold it in place.   It’s not particularly pleasant to look at but we’re sure the man himself doesn't mind too much; he did throw himself into a ruck on Sunday after he had sustained the injury after all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79hv2zxddSg He’s one tough cookie alright.
