Pic: There won’t be many pictures that sum up Cratloe GAA’s historic double better than this

Definitely a contender for our favourite GAA tweet of the year.

Definitely a contender for our favourite GAA tweet of the year.

On Sunday, Cratloe became the first Clare club in 85 years to win the county senior hurling and football titles in the same year, an achievement that has been heartily celebrated in the town in the days since and, no doubt, will be celebrated even further in the days to come.

Central to Cratloe’s triumph in both codes were the Collins brothers Podge and Sean – their father manages the Cratloe footballers and the Clare footballers – and another dual player, Cathal McInerney, who was man of the match in the All-Ireland under-21 hurling final win over Kilkenny two years ago.

It might be a couple of days since they secured their second county title but the lads are still celebrating and deservedly so and if they wanted one photo to be able to look back on and reflect on their achievement years from now, then surely they won’t get any better than this.

Brilliant.

Hat-tip to Sean Hynan for sending this one our way
