Pic: This basic woolly hat on sale at the Ryder Cup will cost you over €100

It's a nice hat but c'mon...

It’s a nice hat but c’mon…

It’s pretty common knowledge that golf isn’t the cheapest sport in the world to set yourself up in with irons, woods, a putter, a bag, balls, replacement balls (JOE’s biggest expense), green fee and membership fees all adding up the total cost.

That’s the gear sorted but you also want to look the part out on the course so getting the right attire is important. A pair of golf shoes, pants and a smart jumper should sort you out but as we enter the colder months of the year you’ll want a hat to keep you warm.

We hope it doesn’t get too cold for spectators at the Ryder Cup this weekend because if they have to shell out for a new hat, it’s going to hit their wallet hard, real hard.

Newstalk’s Nathan Murphy is at Gleneagles at the moment and earlier he tweeted his disbelief at the price of a pretty basic looking woolly hat for sale on the course. A crazy carry on…
