PIC: This GAA match report from Wexford is absolute gold

Forget what happened in Croker, this is better

Forget what happened in Croker, this is better.

It seems that all eyes were on Croke Park this weekend and Dublin vs Mayo didn’t disappoint. Football fans were treated to plenty of drama, goals and cards in a memorable All-Ireland semi-final but there’s one thing that’s missing, comedy.

Naturally most of the countries journalists were focused on what was unfolding at GAA HQ’s but the Wexford People were as diligent and professional as always with their coverage of the the Enniscorthy Farm Systems Junior football championship Group B and the meeting between Glynn-Barntown and Castletown.

The superb opening three paragraphs really sets the tone for what’s to come. You wouldn’t see this at Croker (click into the image if it seems small)

The match seemed like a real humdinger and it must have been such a shame for the dozens of people in attendance to see the ref blow it up for a reason that you would only find in grassroots GAA.
