PIC: This GAA pitch in Galway must be the most waterlogged pitch in Ireland this morning

Bitta rain. Be grand

Conor Heneghan

Best wear the long studs today, conditions are a bit slippery underfoot.

The rain has hit Ireland in a big way this weekend and this morning, many areas of the country are waking up to the effects that persistent downpours have had overnight.

A lot of sporting events are likely to be affected as a result and there sure as hell won’t be any matches played on the pitch at Clonbur GAA, unless they decide to have a game of water polo for the craic.

JOE reader Walter Holleran sent us a picture of the pitch this morning and it makes for quite a sight.

We’ve a sneaky feeling that a lot of pitches are in a similar condition to Clonbur’s this morning and if your local field is one of them, feel free to send evidence our way via the usual channels below.

Cheers to Walter Holleran for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or find us on Facebook or Twitter
