You probably won’t be surprised to learn that Kenny’s eyebrows get a mention or two.
When you think of RTE’s football pundits, the holy trinity of Giles, Dunphy and Brady immediately spring to mind but the supporting cast have stepped up to the plate during the station’s coverage of the World Cup so far.
The likes of Didi Hamann and Richie Sadlier have made a positive impression during their time on the air but arguably the most noticeable has been Kenny Cunningham, both for the quality of his analysis and the fact that his eyebrows develop a life of their own as soon as they’re thrust in front of a camera.
The habits of Kenny’s eyebrows and some of his more favoured phrases – press high up the pitch, for example – are well known at this stage and there have no doubt been some Kenny Cunningham drinking games doing the rounds before, but we don’t know if we’ve seen one as thorough as the one sent into us on Facebook today.
The brainchild of Matty Condron and Joe McGlue (great name by the way, really ‘sticks’ in the memory) it covers every aspect of Kenny’s on screen behaviour and pretty much ensures that you’ll be pretty well-oiled come the end of the game no matter what happens. We particularly like rules 16-18.
