Pic: This one simple picture sums up how much GAA means to people

A brilliant gesture

Eoghan Doherty

So simple, but so meaningful.

GAA means a lot of things to a lot of people in this country and this lovely letter, sent into our sisters over at Her.ie, perfectly sums up the sport’s importance.

Many, many volunteers give up their time, their advice and so much more to help youngsters develop as both people and players, and this note, presented to a mentor at Kildare’s Ballyteague Gaelic Football Club, was a brilliantly simple gesture that many can undoubtedly relate to.

Irene Heavey sent in a picture of the note, which one of the club member’s received from one of his underage players last night, saying, “I just had to share it because it’s ridiculously cute and makes volunteering to coach kids much more worthwhile.”

“Thank you for making me a good player. ” Fair play, Ciara…

GAA letter

Hat-tip to the ladies at Her.ie and thanks to Irene Heavey for sending the pic their way.
