Despite having a right knee the size of a balloon, Springboks skipper Kyle Brown still managed to score the winning try in a dramatic victory in the final of the Port Elizabeth Sevens at the weekend.

Brown scored the winning try with only four minutes remaining of brilliant victory for the South African sevens over their New Zealand counterparts on what was a hugely emotional occasion at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Port Elizabeth only days after Madiba’s death last week. Despite trailing 14-0 at one stage, the Springboks recovered to take the title after a 17-14 win that was capped by a late try by Brown, who somehow managed to cross the line despite his right knee having swelled to numerous times its size, as was illustrated in a picture taken from the dressing room afterwards.   He’s one tough b**tard alright.
