Pic: We might have found the best cow-related excuse for missing a Junior B GAA match

No bull

Conor Heneghan

The best bovine Junior B GAA love story you’ll read this year.

The grand stretch in the evenings and the smell of cut grass in the air these days are a reminder that the GAA season is very much in full swing.

From now until well into autumn and winter in some cases, club players across the country will put their lives on hold to commit to the cause, with training and matches taking precedence over wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, work, social lives etc.

Sometimes, however, hard as it might be to believe, there are some things that are more important than GAA, but if you’re going to miss a game, you’d better have a damn good excuse.

We can safely say that the Junior B player who sent the following messages to his manager explaining why he wouldn’t be able to turn up to a recent match had a good reason for not making it.

We’re waiting on confirmation of the identity of the player in question and the location of the club he plays for, but more importantly, we’re dying to find out if romance blossomed between the cow and the bull in question.

And don’t worry lad, you’ll get the chance to show off those new boots real soon too.

Hat-tip to @crem89 for sending this one our way on Twitter
