Pic: With these prizes on offer, we’d sure love to win the annual draw for Curry GAA club in Sligo

Have you heifer seen anything like it?

Local GAA clubs have been affected as much as everyone else in the economic downturn and the days when they could afford to give away big, lavish prizes in raffles or annual draws are, for many clubs, gone for the time being at least.

Nowadays, clubs have to be creative with the prizes they have on offer in such circumstances and that certainly applies to the annual draw for Curry GAA club in Sligo, where the following three prizes will be up for grabs when the draw takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

In fairness to Curry, the first two prizes will be very much welcomed by those from an agricultural background and we love the fact that they actually went to the trouble of printing a miniature cow in the space beside line about the first prize. No detail spared whatsoever.

If the lucky winner of the draw would like to send us a picture alongside the first prize after the draw is made, we’d very much appreciate it; in the meantime, we hope that the club can raise plenty of funds on the back of ticket sales and all goes s-moooo-thly ahead of the big night on August 4.

Hat-tip to Kevin McMorrow for sending this one our way
