Pic: Wouldn’t you know, there was a man in an Offaly jersey in the crowd at Wimbledon

Hon the Faithful!

He looks Offaly different from the rest of the crowd. *Gets coat*

Barely any major sporting event passes these days without a GAA jersey being spotted somewhere amongst the crowd and this year’s Wimbledon is no different.

The crowd at SW19 are traditionally a little bit better dressed than the attendees at most sporting events, but the famous green, white and gold colours of Offaly would adorn any occasion, as they did a little earlier this evening.

From the looks of things, it’s an Offaly jersey from the late 90s and early 2000s, a true classic of its era.

Furthermore, judging by the demeanour of the man wearing it, he looks like he was sold hurling and had to put up with an entirely different small ball game instead.

‘Tis grand but it’s no O’Connor Park in Tullamore all the same.

Hat-tip to Cormac Ó Dóda and Johnny Casey for the heads up on this one
