Gunnar Nelson disappointingly lost his unbeaten record in the UFC with a split-decision loss to Rick ‘The Horror’ Story at the weekend in Stockholm. Nelson never really got going in the fight and his inability to get his opponent to the ground meant the fight turned into a slugfest against the powerful American. While we are not disputing the decision of the judges, because we thought the result was about right, you wouldn't have guessed that Gunnar lost the fight when you saw the state of Story afterwards while Gunnar's only blemish is a plaster on his nose…

That is not to say that Nelson was unscathed from the bout. He was on the receiving end of this powerful left hand from Story and was left dazed by the blow, although he did manage to regain his wits and survive the barrage.
