Pics: Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers fans clash before big Dublin derby
One of the fiercest rivalries on the Irish soccer scene spilled over into attempted violence between fans this evening, as these images by FM104's Darren Cleary show.
The first meeting of Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers this season is taking place as we speak at Dalymount Park in Phibsboro but it seems there were some unsavoury scenes in the nearby Dorest Street area between two groups prior to the kick-off.
FM104 reporter Darren Cleary was in the area and he tweeted out what he saw and provided some pictorial proof of the violence.
We spoke to Darren who said the Gardai were on the scene so quickly that the two groups of supporters never got close enough to each other to cause any injuries and that as far as he could see, nobody was arrested.
