Talk about some slick kicks…
Most golfers have pretty boring wardrobes, with the exception of some pros like Rickie Fowler and Ian Poulter, and to be fair to Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, he’s not a plain Jane when it comes to togging out for a round.
For the upcoming Irish Open, which kicks off on Thursday, May 28th, McIlroy will be wearing a different pair of colourful shoes for each round that have been designed by children whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Speaking about Rory’s kicks, Nike said: “McIlroy, The Rory Foundation and Nike teamed up with the Cancer Fund for Children in Northern Ireland to raise funds and awareness through the kids’ designs. The four colorways that were selected were created by kids on NIKEiD during a weekend at the organisation’s log cabin in Newcastle.”
Here’s a look at the four pairs of shoes in question…
ROUND 1 – DESIGNED BY SARA LOCKHART
ROUND 2 - DESIGNED BY RYAN KEENAN
ROUND 3 - DESIGNED BY CHLOE HYNDMAN
ROUND 4 – DESIGNED BY ALEX KERNAGHAN
“I’m delighted that the young people associated with the Cancer Fund for Children got to design my shoes,” said McIlroy.
“The shoes are really unique with some crazy designs. The Irish Open is going to be a very special event for golf and my Foundation and I am excited to compete in them this week.”
We'd love a pair of each... for when we hit the crazy golf course. Real golf is too difficult.
