Pics: Paul O’Connell, Peter O’Mahony and JJ Hanrahan REALLY enjoyed that win over Perpignan

Another miracle finish for Munster rugby, but the players still love them.

Another miracle finish for Munster rugby, but the players still love them.

When Tommaso Benvenuti crossed for a try with two minutes on the clock, it looked like Munster’s goose was cooked. But we really should know by now to never write off this team and sure enough, in a frankly ridiculous way, the men in red managed to manufacture a try in added time to grab a one-point win from the jaws of defeat.

A dazzling bit of body control to stay in touch, followed by a very fine offload by Tommy O’Donnell, sent sub JJ Hanrahan away and he dived over in the corner to silence the crowd at Stade Aimé Giral.

Hanrahan (main pic), a youngster, was obviously delighted but older heads like Peter O’Mahony, and even a veteran like Paul O’Connell, revelled in this dramatic win too.
