PICS: The fallout from an absolutely mad night in the Europa League at Anfield

Colm Boohig

Liverpool are through in an incredible match.

The first half of the match might have been crazy in its own right, but we don’t think many were prepared for that second period.

The Europa League quarter-final, second leg began with Liverpool in the driving seat having taken a 1-1 draw from the first leg, but Dortmund flew out of the traps, scoring twice in the opening ten minutes to take a 3-1 advantage going into half-time.

Then all hell broke loose in the second half.

Divock Origi gave the hosts hope with an early strike, but the game looked buried when Marco Reus added another for Dortmund.

However, goals from Philippe Coutinho and Mohammed Sakho made it 3-3 on the night and 4-4 on aggregate with 13 minutes to go.

Finally, in stoppage time, up stepped Dejan Lovren to seal a famous win for Liverpool.

Here’s the ecstatic reaction…
