PICS: The fantastic Lionel Richie-inspired Irish flag was a big hit in Warsaw last night
The party went on all night long.
Some great flags have graced Ireland soccer matches over the years and yesterday, we found one that’s up there with the best of them.
Sent our way by JOE reader Conor Douglas, it seamlessly combined a famous Lionel Richie song title with a tribute to Ireland’s hero against Germany, Shane Long, and it attracted much deserved kudos when we put it up on the site.
Conor and his friends brought it to Warsaw yesterday before the big game against Poland tonight and naturally, they brought it out on the town to show it off to their fellow Irish supporters.
It went down a treat and thankfully, as you can see from the last picture, it managed to survive the night.

Fingers crossed the TV cameras catch a glimpse of it tonight… after an Ireland victory, of course.
