PICS: The Premier League has launched a new logo today and the reaction has been brilliant

That lion looks quite sombre next to that sign.

To be fair, it's been a sombre today for sport in general following the Paul O'Connell news, and that seems to have spread to the new Premier League logo. This is the design, as of 2016/17. Image via Sky Sports The fresh badge will come into play at the start of next season, with the Premier League attempting to make the logo more personable and less corporate by erasing 'Barclays' from the title and sometimes even referring to the brand as, simply, the 'PL'.
