It was greeted by thousands of grieving fans.
There were poignant scenes outside Thomond Park on Wednesday evening as the remains of the late Munster head coach Anthony Foley stopped by the Limerick stadium.
A minute’s silence was closely followed by a rendition of Shannon RFC anthem ‘There is an Isle,’ as throngs of grieving supporters paid their final respects to the Munster and Ireland legend.
The remains of Foley were brought back to Ireland from Paris earlier on Wednesday, while the area around Thomond Park came to a complete standstill this evening.
The 42-year-old’s funeral will take place this Friday.
