Is this what they’ve been missing?
Pope Francis arrived in Knock on Sunday morning.
People turned out in big numbers despite the bad weather to see the Holy Father, and one person, in particular, will be glad they did so.
Seconds before the Pope boarded his Aer Lingus flight back to Dublin, he was shaking hands of all of those around him. The usual Pope behaviour.
After he made his way through the staff and the children who were braving the weather conditions, he was handed something that we doubt he has ever received before…
A Mayo GAA jersey.
And he signed it.
Have a look for yourself here.

Pope Francis signed the jersey and returned it to the lucky Mayo fan.
Could this be what they’ve been missing? Will the curse finally be lifted?
The more spiritual among us may be tempted to throw a cheeky punt on Mayo to win the All-Ireland after this. We know that Pope Francis will be up for them anyway.
