Real Madrid’s Pepe donates 9000kg of food to 200 disadvantaged families ahead of Christmas

We weren’t the biggest fans of the Portuguese defender, but our views have changed a bit now…

When you think of Pepe, a soft caring image is not the first one that comes to mind and in fact it’s more likely you will remember all the red cards (12 in all) he has gotten in the past.

But the thoroughly annoying internet meme of ‘You know my name, not my story’ comes to mind when you hear what he has just done.

Pepe recently purchased 9000kg of food packages from his own pocket to be distributed around Madrid for people who are less well off than others.

To top it all off, he travelled around and handed out some of the packages himself. Apparently, he believes that everyone deserves to have a merry Christmas, regardless of how much money they have.

We have heard from good authority (Buddy the Elf) that the best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear, but we think that Pepe’s method is pretty effective as well.

We may have been wrong when we called Pepe a douche in the past. This really is a cool and selfless gesture and we’re going to give the Real Madrid star the benefit of the doubt from now on.

Just as long as he doesn’t head-butt anyone in the next few matches…
