The UFC returns to Dublin in October and it has been confirmed that Duffy will face former featherweight contender Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier.
Duffy confirmed today that Poirier, who formerly faced Conor McGregor at UFC 178, will be his opponent in the main event on the card.
Isn’t that an intriguing match-up?
Duffy (14-1) has two straight wins in the UFC after seeing off Ivan Jorge via a first round submission at UFC Fight Night Glasgow recently and he will be facing a fighter who is trying to assert his relevance in the UFC lightweight division.

Poirier is a big name in the UFC and is a good opponent for Duffy as ‘The Diamond’ is further down the pecking line since his move to lightweight.
Duffy himself is in Dublin today for the launch of UFC Dublin which promises to be a huge day in Irish sport.
