A real legend of the game.
Johan Cruyff has passed away at the age of 68, after a battle with lung cancer. He was diagnosed with the disease in 2015.
Cruyff won a litany of honours as a player with Ajax and Barcelona, before going on to manage Barcelona and forge a style that many believe has influenced modern-day coaches like Pep Guardiola. He was one of the best known proponents of ‘total football.’
He was also known for pioneering his own move, known as the Cruyff turn, and winning no fewer than three Ballons d’Ors.
The news was confirmed via his own official Twitter page.
