Is the prodigal son coming home?
According to Sky Sports sources, Cristiano Ronaldo had admitted in a Madrid court that he wants to return to England.
Ronaldo has appeared in court to deny claims about evading taxes and the forward believes that he has actually paid more in Spain than he should have.
The court appearance was 90 minutes long and at one stage during the gruelling, Ronaldo said “I never had these problems in England. That’s why I want to go back there.”
Ronaldo has been away from United now since 2009 and the Red Devils manager, José Mourinho, said in July that re-signing Ronaldo would be “mission impossible” for the club.
Since his departure, there have been constant rumours about CR7 making his way back to Manchester and with talks like this circulating, this seems the most likely rumour yet.
Ronaldo’s current side and former club will meet on Tuesday in the European Super Cup Final and United fans will be excited to see if there is any further gesture from Ronaldo in the coming days although he is tied to Real Madrid in a contract for another five years.
