Roy Keane allegedly showed up at Tom Cleverley’s house to confront him over Villa bust-up rumours

We can only hope Tom had popped out to the shops at the time.

History has shown us that hell hath no fury like a Roy Keane scorned and it appears as if Tom Cleverley could have been on the receiving end of Roy’s fury this week.

According to The Sun, the Ireland assistant manager turned up at Cleverley’s house in Cheshire and “began furiously pressing the doorbell” because of his belief that the on-loan Manchester United midfielder was to blame for spreading stories of bust-ups between Keane and Villa players that surfaced last weekend.

The Sun reports that Keane waited outside Cleverley’s house and waited for about 15 minutes, but when nobody surfaced, he left again, which suggests that Cleverley was either away from the house at the time or he realised who was outside his house and decided it was best to stay put.

Keane is alleged to have been spotted on a CCTV camera and is now believed to accept that Cleverley was not in fact responsible for leaking stories suggesting that Keane had had a bust-up with Gabriel Agbonlahor amongst other players.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter was full of amusing reactions once the story broke last night and this by the excellent Bearded Genius is how we imagined things went down at Chez Cleverley when he realised who was outside his door…
