French rugby club CA Brive announced the signature on Monday afternoon.

Former Ulster centre Stuart Olding has signed for French rugby club CA Brive, the club confirmed in a statement on Monday.

Controversy has surrounded Olding since he and his former Ulster teammate Paddy Jackson stood trial in Belfast on charges of rape earlier this year. Both players were acquitted, but both subsequently had their contracts revoked by Ulster Rugby and the IRFU.

It emerged on Monday afternoon that Olding has now been signed on a two-year contract by CA Brive, who play rugby in the Rugby Pro D2, the second division of domestic club rugby in France.

Jeremy Davidson, who is soon to take over as coach of CA Brive, previously played for Ulster and also served as an assistant coach at the province.

The club confirmed Olding’s signing, as well as that of Georgian international Otar Giorgadze on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
