Ryan Giggs charged with assaulting two women and controlling or coercive behaviour

The Wales manager will appear in Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court next Wednesday.

Ryan Giggs has been charged with assaulting two women and controlling or coercive behaviour, the UK Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said that the charges were related to an incident on November 1, 2020.

“Police were called at 10.05pm on Sunday 1 November 2020 to reports of a disturbance at an address on Chatsworth Road, Worsley” the GMP said. “A woman in her 30s was treated for injuries at the scene.”

According to the Manchester Evening News, Giggs has also been charged with one count of coercive and controlling behaviour between December 2017 and November 2020.

The Wales manager will appear in Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court next Wednesday (28 April).
