Fair play to them.

Sean Cox, from Dunboyne in Meath, suffered serious injuries following an attack, by a number of Roma fans before Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final game against them in April.

Cox has been in hospital since.

A GoFundMe page was setup following the attack to assist Cox and his family with the extensive hospital bills that they have to pay.

A.S. Roma have become the latest to donate with a very generous contribution.

It was revealed on Thursday that the Italian football club donated €150,000 to the Sean Cox fund.

Club President Jim Pallotta spoke about the incident, saying: “What happened to Sean Cox should never happen to anyone attending a football match. Our thoughts today, as they have been from day one, are with Sean, Martina and their whole family. We all hope Sean makes as full a recovery as possible.”

Martina Cox, Sean’s wife, spoke about her husband’s current position, saying: “There is no sign of Sean being able to return home any time soon and even with extensive specialist rehabilitation efforts, which will take years, he will require care for the rest of his life.”

Fans who wish to contribute to the GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Sean’s medical and rehabilitation costs can make a donation here.
