He was one of the very best…
Shay Given has issued a statement this evening as he retired from international football with Ireland following a career which spanned from 1996-2016.
Given made his debut for Ireland against Russia in 1996 and was part of the Ireland squad which reached the round of 16 at Euro 2016.
He retires with 134 international caps to his name and a huge number of important saves for the Irish team.
He owes nothing to Irish soccer…
Thanks to all the irish fans around the world 🙏🇮🇪🙏🍀🍀🍀 pic.twitter.com/KSS1U6yZPl
