Six Nations: 5 players who stood out during match week 3

JOE

It’s a straight shootout between England and Wales for the Championship, however Scotland, France and Ireland can take plenty of positives from their weekend.

Week three of the Six Nations provided plenty of talking points, but who stood out above the rest?

With thanks to Panadol, here are 5 players who impressed during the Six Nations’ third round of fixtures.

Billy Vunipola, England

Wow! Has any player ever steamrolled Ireland as much as Vunipola did on Saturday? His performance was incredible. Many of the Irish players will be feeling the damage of his hard running for weeks to come.

Robbie Henshaw, Ireland

How different this weekend could have been if he managed to ground the ball in the corner. Nonetheless, the Athlone man had an excellent game, making 108 metres over two epic linebreaks. What he lacks in sprinter speed, he makes up for in clever lines.

Greig Laidlaw, Scotland

Laidlaw is too slow to be considered a world class scrumhalf, which is a shame as every other portion of his game is top-notch. He scored 21 points in Scotland’s 20 – 36 win over Italy at the weekend.

Stuart Hogg, Scotland

We’re pretty sure Hogg would make it onto any team in the Six Nations. He showed sublime skill to assist two tries and once again proved that he is far and away Scotland’s best player.

Sam Warburton, Wales

It was another fantastic performance from Warburton, who made 17 tackles in what was an epic defensive effort. He also made the biggest hit of the whole weekend. Take a look!
