The striker is hoping to raise money for nine-year-old Brandon Gormley.

Earlier this month we brought you the news that Sligo’s Josep Ndo was auctioning off some of his most prized possessions to raise money for Drogheda’s Gary O’Neill.

Well, there must something very sound in the water around the Showgrounds as Ndo’s team-mate Gavin Peers is also using his memorabilia to raise funds for a very worthy cause.

The striker posted this on Twitter last night, urging his followers to help out a youngster called Brandon Gormley. Brandon is a nine-year-old who is in the process of battling cancer and a number of different fund raising initiatives are underway in the area to help him and his family.

The bidding for the shirt and medal is currently at €500 according to Peers, so we hope it continues to grow after Gavin’s very decent gesture.

If you wish to bid, or donate to Brandon’s fund, just check out this Facebook page.
