So the Wallabies got through €1500 of booze at Krystle in Dublin

The Wallabies got through €1500 of booze at Krystle in Dublin…

A few more details have emerged on the Aussies big night out in Dublin last week.

As was reported over the weekend, 15 of the Wallabies that spanked Ireland on Saturday were disciplined on Sunday for a night on the town in Dublin on Tuesday.

Six players received one-game bans, five were given written warnings and a further four received verbal warnings from coach Ewan McKenzie after the Ireland game, with the coach citing ‘inappropriate levels of alcohol during the early hours of Wednesday morning’.

Now, thanks to a report in the Australian Daily Telegraph, also carried on ESPN’s, we know a bit more about the night on the town. The paper quotes the owner of Krystle nightclub Rangan Arulchelvan, who reveals the details of the very orderly night the visitors had last Tuesday.

“They had a mix of everything, I would say it was worth about €1500. We like to look after international teams. We’ve had the England and Ireland rugby teams in here, the All Blacks, the Australian cricketers – Ricky Ponting has come here.

“There were eight or nine players. I was here myself on that night and they behaved well. They came in at about 11pm and were here until 3.30am. People came up and took photos with them and wanted autographs signed throughout the night, and the players were friendly; they posed for photos and signed everything.”

All sounds very respectable to us…
