If you’re in the west and looking for something to do this weekend, why not head along to the Showgrounds to pay tribute to a Sligo Rovers legend and help a good cause.

The Bit O’Red are staging a tribute game for penalty shoot-out king and three time FAI Cup medal winner Ciaran Kelly in association with the North West Hospice this Saturday, 16 November, with a stellar cast from the worlds of soccer and GAA lining out at the Showgrounds.

A number of Ciaran’s teammates from the recent FAI Cup winning Sligo Rovers side will be taking part, as will ex-Sligo Rovers players such as Richie Ryan, Paul McTiernan, Sean Flannery, Jason McGuinness & Mark Quigley.

Those soccer stars will be going up against a number of high-profile Gaelic Football figures such as Ciaran’s fellow Mayo men Andy Moran and Rob Hennelly, 2012 All Ireland Winners Mark McHugh & Paul Durcan, Leitrim star Emlyn Mulligan and Sligo stalwarts Eamonn O‘Hara, Mark Brehony and David Kelly amongst others.

The famous FAI Cup will also be in attendance for the fans to get exclusive pictures on the day.

All match tickets can be purchased in Jako Sport and The Belfry with Adult Tickets at €10 and Children’s tickets at €5. Patrons may also pay at the gate on the day and to add to the occasion, match tickets will also double as a ticket to the raffle, in which a number of top prizes such as Ciaran Kelly’s FAI Cup winning jersey will be up for grabs.
