The iconic Man United boss was hospitalised on Saturday morning.

Floods of tributes and well-wishes have been sent out to Alex Ferguson after he underwent emergency surgery on Saturday. Following news that the former Manchester United manager was rushed to hospital on the morning of 5 May, his well-being was called out for by Premier League players, pundits, teams and even politicians. The 76-year-old was taken to Macclesfield hospital in order to receive surgery for a brain haemorrhage. It has since been confirmed by Manchester United's spokesperson that the procedure went well, but "he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery." https://twitter.com/carras16/status/992844408193241089 https://twitter.com/GaryLineker/status/992843463883415552 https://twitter.com/ManCity/status/992847735043887104 https://twitter.com/NicolaSturgeon/status/992843215383523329 https://twitter.com/VincentKompany/status/992844651253071873 https://twitter.com/D_DeGea/status/992845771451043847
