That’s Gas: Baseball player unintentionally headers ball to teammate

Heading the ball is something that works for footballers, but who knew heading the ball could have turned out so well for this baseball player?

Heading the ball is something that works for footballers, but who knew heading the ball could have turned out so well for this baseball player?

Christian Ibarra & Alex Bregman made a standout play during LSU’s 11-1 win over Arkansas Razorbacks, even though it was completely unintentional.

Razorbacks batter Alex Gosser hit a ball high into the sky and Ibarra was quick to get underneath the wayward shot. However, the sun shone into Ibarra’s eyes and he ended up losing sight of the ball at the last second.

“I had it until right at the last second and it got right in the sun and I tried to block my face,” Ibarra said.

The ball then hit Ibarra in the face and bounced back into the air. That’s when Ibarra’s teammate Bregman stepped in to grab the ball like it was nothing to him…

“You can’t really explain it,” LSU first baseman Tyler Moore said. “He just lost it late and it wound up hitting him square and Bregman made a great play.”
