That's it - Georgios Samaras is now officially JOE's favourite footballer
Young Celtic fan Jay Beatty proudly shows off a gift from Samaras and his Greek team-mates.
Samaras and Jay, who has Down's Syndrome, became great friends when Celtic played in Ireland and the former Manchester City striker arranged for the youngster to head over to Brazil to see Greece play in the World Cup.
“This boy gives me so much strength, it’s incredible. There are no words. I feel his love so much. This love I feel, is also felt by many people in Greece. There’s a Facebook page for him to come to Brazil," Samaras said at the time.
“This morning, in a talk I had with the head of the EPO, we said we will arrange his tickets to come and watch the match with Costa Rica. Well will talk with the boy’s father, we’ll tell him about everything and we’ll see.”
With the World Cup already a distant memory, there's still no chance of Samaras forgetting about his pal.
