The luck of the Irish continued throughout the night with Cathal Pendred beating Mike King also with a rear naked choke that knocked the American out cold. “You’ll never beat the Irish” rang out among the crowd at the O2 following Pendred’s fight.
Neil Seery from Dublin also saw off his competitor, Phil Harris of Portsmouth, England, in what appeared to be a fairly close match, up until the last round when Seery managed to dominate physically in the cage.
There was very strong support for Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke who managed to beat a tired looking Naoyuki Kotani of Japan by TKO. In fairness, Parke had the fight under control from the get go.

Last, but not least for Ireland, was Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor’s incredible win over the Brazilian Diego Brandao, and not that we're biased, but we think the Irishman's shorts may have had some lucky branding... just sayin'.
Brandao had been looking forward to the challenge all week saying McGregor “talks like a clown”, but McGregor was certainly the last man laughing after tonight’s UFC Fight Night Dublin event.
