The biggest star in UFC history, Brock Lesnar, is returning to the UFC

Huge news.

The UFC officially announced the return of Brock Lesnar last night for a fight at the landmark UFC 200 event.

That was one of a number of high profile announcements last night…

The WWE star does not yet have an opponent but it’s likely that contenders will be queueing up to get a cut of the enormous pay day Lesnar brings with him wherever he goes.

The ex-heavyweight champion will return to the octagon for the first time since 2011 where he lost to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141.

However despite his high profile return, it looks like his long-term future lies outside the octagon as the WWE released their own statement shortly after the UFC’s announcement.

It reads: “Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200.  Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.”

So UFC fans, it’s for one wild night only…

Lesnar undoubtedly has star power with his UFC 100 fight with Frank Mir still the highest selling pay-per-view in MMA history, but the UFC will be hoping that with his addition, UFC 200 will surpass that.

We think it just might…
