The JOE v Ladbrokes Football Accumulator Challenge: Week 12

Another week and yet another win for the bookie. Who knew they were good at this betting lark? Can Ladbrokes' Hayley O'Connor keep it up this week though?

Another week and yet another win for the bookie. Who knew they were good at this betting lark? Can Ladbrokes’ Hayley O’Connor keep it up this week though?

Last week was a God-send for punters and a disaster for bookies. All the top seven in the Premier League won, meaning loads and loads of accumulators came in all over the country. Among those who came in was Ladbrokes’ own Hayley O’Connor, who went for a trio of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. All three delivered, adding yet more to her kitty, which is starting to creep up towards respectability.

Sadly, we went for Cardiff to beat West Ham, and that is where we came unstuck. Cheers Big Sam. Fingers crossed we can made some head way into Hayley’s lead this week.

Here’s Hayley’s picks for Week 11:

Hull to beat Norwich, 21/10

Hull, now with added Nikica Jelavic,m should heap the misery onto poor Chris Hughton at Carrow Road

Chelsea to beat Manchester United, 3/4

No Rooney and no RVP means surely no hope for David Moyes

Liverpool to beat Aston Villa, 2/9

There is simply no way that Villa can contain SAS. Home win.

All in all, that treble comes in at odds of a little over 13/2 and after three wins on the bounce, hayley is in tip top tipping form.

And here’s JOE’s picks:

Sunderland to beat Southampton, 19/10

Saints haven’t been this upset since the Reformation and Sunderland are starting to look much more solid under Gus Poyet at last. An odds boosting home win for us

Arsenal to beat Fulham, 2/9

Fulham have lost five of their last six away, and the most recent of those saw them ship six goals to Hull. Arsenal will surely overpower them at the Emirates

Manchester City to beat Cardiff, 1/7

Man City’s excellence at home hardly needs repeating and with Sergio Aguero now fully fit, this could be another game with lots of goals for the Citizens, certainly too many for Cardiff to cope with.

That treble comes in at odds of a just over 4/1 and should put us back in the game if all goes to plan.

We’ll know for sure next week so check back then for an update, when JOE will hopefully have ensured that Hayley doesn’t get too far ahead as we get 2014 under way.
