The 'morning after' reaction to another dull Transfer Deadline Day
As Jim White's yellow tie gathers dust for another nine months, we look at the reaction to an underwhelming Transfer Deadline Day.
Giannelli Imbula from Porto to Stoke was by far the biggest deal at £18.3m, while Everton will have been pleased to sign another striker to take the pressure off Romelu Lukaku.
The Toffees signed Oumar Niasse from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow in a £13.5m deal, while Newcastle added Seydou Doumbia up front, but none of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City or Arsenal were active (save for the former getting rid of Mathieu Debuchy to Bordeaux).
@SkySportsNewsHQ What would you be talking about today if #Guardiola hadn't agreed to join #MCFC ?? #transferdeadlineday 😴😴😴

This was, by far, the most exciting deal of the day...

Coverage of the #TransferWindow was seriously dull. Glad the window is now firmly shut & I can now focus on avoiding US election coverage.

So say all of us...
I miss the transfer window days of Harry Redknapp and dildos being waved in the reporter's face. #dull

When a Pato loan to Chelsea is the most notable deal, you know you’ve got a boring transfer window on your hands. pic.twitter.com/sGjkDbtSRL
