While the defeat still hurts for us, for New Zealand it represented the culmination of the perfect year and adidas have saluted the team with this fitting ad.
The dramatic win at the Aviva capped off a remarkable 2013, starting with a win over the French in June, a run of 14 successive victories in just six months with Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Japan and England all failing to lower their colours. Adidas have cleverly extended the website address of the All Blacks, with each extra w representing a win.
That final w will rankle for a long time on these shores, but you can only admire a team that has become the first of the professional era to go a season unbeaten.
