He must not like steak.
Michael Jordan is a hot commodity, he’s worth a cool €480 million to Nike, so using his name in an advert might cost you a few euros. €10 million to be exact, according to Mr Jordan’s solicitor representing him in a case against Dominik’s Finest Foods.
The basketball icon is suing the company because they used his full name in an advert promoting their restaurant ehich also included a voucher for $2 off a steak in 2009.
The ad congratulated Mr Jordan for being inducted into their Hall of Fame and included the phrase “Michael Jordan… You are a cut above” along wiith giving him a $2 voucher for steak.
A jury will decide how much the former athlete will get in damages and considering the fee for the use of his name, the restaurant, which is now closed down, is in for a hefty bill.
