J-League

Solid was the order of the day in the J-League this week, with all of the top five scoring between 50 and 75 points.

Ciaran Tracey’s Bacuna Mata-ta maintain a healthy lead at the top, 48 points ahead of Allan Johnson’s Comeback Kids, who made up ten points on the leaders after an impressive score of 75.

Crabby Joe’s Spleef Queens are a further 20 points back in third place with four points to spare over Keith O’Brien’s Hon d’Cabayes in fourth, with Eoghan O’Mahony’s Cech mate staying put in fifth place just one point behind.

Gameweek 23

Though Chelsea are only four points clear of the relegation zone (who could imagine that we’d be saying that in January?), their visit to the Emirates on Sunday is the big tie of the weekend and if Arsenal have a fit Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil they could do some real damage.

during the Barclays Premier League match between Arsenal and Sunderland at Emirates Stadium on May 20, 2015 in London, England.

Luis Suarez used to destroy Norwich any time he played them with Liverpool and how the goal-shy reds could do with their former star ahead of the visit to Carrow Road on Saturday morning.

Manchester United have picked up a bit of form but have often found Southampton troublesome opponents and the same is true for Manchester City of West Ham, even with Sergio Aguero looking back to his best against Crystal Palace last time out.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Wayne Rooney (£10.0 million). Has always been a man who scores in spurts and he’s in the middle of one at the moment with four goals, an assist and 33 points in his last three league outings.

Dark horse: Georginio Wijnaldum (£7.0 million). With all due respect to Newcastle fans, the Dutchman looks capable of playing at a far higher level than he is right now and is showing just why with two goals, an assist and 21 points in his last two games.

Captain’s choice: Sergio Aguero (£13.3 million). West Ham away is always tricky, but after his star turn last weekend we see no reason to take the armband off the Argentinean.

Potential to use chips

With the FA Cup and the return of the European competitions likely to cause a little fixture re-jigging and a double gameweek or two down the line, we’d tend to agree with the lovely Mila Kunis this week.
